Toolbag Ray Tracing
Marmoset Toolbag's GPU ray-traced renderer
Also known as: Marmoset ray tracing · Toolbag raytracing · Marmoset Toolbag render · Toolbag path tracing · Marmoset Toolbag 4 ray tracing
Definition
Toolbag's ray tracing is a GPU renderer in Marmoset Toolbag 4 that traces light rays for physically accurate reflections, shadows and global illumination. It gives results closer to an offline renderer than the real-time viewport, and works with the same materials and lighting as the rasterized mode. It needs a graphics card that supports ray tracing, and is used for portfolio renders, turntables and material previews of game assets.

Turn it on for final images and compare it with the real-time view when you work on materials. It converges over a few seconds, so give it time before you capture. Use a HDRI and a few lights for clean results, and use the denoiser when noise remains. Toolbag renders are a presentation of the textures and model, not the game engine's look, so check the asset in the engine too.
