GoZ
One-click bridge between ZBrush and other programs
Also known as: ZBrush GoZ · GoZ Blender · GoZ Maya · GoZ Photoshop · ZBrush send to Maya
Definition
GoZ is the one-click bridge that sends a model between ZBrush and other programs such as Maya, 3ds Max, Blender, Cinema 4D and Photoshop. You click GoZ in ZBrush, the model opens in the other program, and when you send it back, ZBrush updates the same mesh, keeping its subdivision levels and polypaint where possible. It avoids repeated exports and imports, and keeps your project connected while you move between tools.
In production
Install the GoZ plugin for your 3D program from the ZBrush installer, and use it for round trips, for example to fix UVs in Maya or Blender and return the model to ZBrush. Do not change the vertex order or topology of the low-level mesh in the other program if you want to keep the subdivision detail. For production pipelines, FBX or OBJ exports are still the safer way to hand assets to the next stage.
