Export Substance Designer Textures
Save bitmaps or an SBSAR from a graph
Also known as: Designer export bitmaps · Substance Designer export · Designer SBSAR publish · Designer export outputs · Designer to Unreal · Designer export normal map
Quick answer
To export textures from Substance Designer, right-click the graph in the Explorer and choose Export Outputs as Bitmaps, then pick a folder, file format and size. Each output node, such as base color, normal and roughness, becomes a file. To keep the material parametric, publish an SBSAR instead with Publish .sbsar file, which can be used in Substance Painter and in engines that have a Substance plugin.
How to fix it
Name the output nodes with their usage, such as basecolor, normal, roughness and height, so presets map them correctly, and set the right normal format for the engine. Export at the final size, in PNG or TGA at 8 or 16 bits for height. For games, bitmaps are the safe choice, while SBSARs suit workflows where a material is changed in the engine. Check the exported maps in Painter or in the engine.
