Architecture & Props

An older fan-art piece recreating an underground gate in the visual style of the Darksiders series, kept in the gallery as an example of studying an established art direction rather than inventing one from scratch. The gate and its skull ornamentation were clay-rendered through several iterations to match the series' heavy, angular stonework before final colour and lighting passes. Fan work like this is a common early-career exercise: reproducing someone else's established style closely enough to pass as "in-universe" is a harder technical and observational skill than it looks.
Six images document the study, including four separate clay-render passes of the gate and skull ornamentation shown before the final rendered piece — deliberately kept in the gallery rather than trimmed down, since the iteration count itself is the point: matching an established franchise's exact stone-carving language took repeated passes, not one lucky sculpt. It's the oldest piece in the Architecture & Props category by a wide margin, kept in the gallery as a marker of where the artist's hard-surface work started rather than removed for being an early piece.
